Timing is everything in network marketing prospecting. You may only get one chance to say the right thing or ask the right question. While you don’t want to come off as a robot reading from a script, having a set of quality network marketing prospecting scripts to practice with is smart business. When you have a carefully crafted script and practice the language repeatedly, the right words will roll off your tongue when the time comes to use them.

So where can you get effective network marketing prospecting scripts to practice with? The Little Black Book of MLM Scripts of course! This collection of phone, voicemail, in-person and email scripts from network marketing legend Todd Falcone are worth their weight to gold.

Network marketing prospecting has never been this step-by-step.

Need a script for the bank, grocery store or post office? It’s in there.

Need a script for generating curiosity in a voicemail message? It’s in there.

Need a script for realtors? It’s in there.

Need a “short and sweet” email follow-up message? It’s in there.

Need the perfect script for the prospect that didn’t show up to a scheduled event? There are three version in there…nice, irritated and fuming mad.

Have you heard the famous sports quote, “The best prepared team usually wins.” The same is true in network marketing prospecting. The best prepared recruiter will succeed where others have failed.

It doesn’t take much preparation to recruit desperate folks. You know, the type that that can’t even afford the monthly autoship and want to sign up without buying any products or training tools.

It does take preparation and the right words to recruit successful professionals. These people have many choices in life. They have a track record of success. AND, they’ve probably said no to dozens of other network marketing prospecting pitches in their lifetimes. The only way to recruit these people is to stand out from the crowd.

Todd Falcone’s Little Black Book of MLM Scripts

It includes prospecting scripts for realtors, mortgage brokers, financial planners, inside and outside sales professionals. These are the types of go-getters, accustomed to working on commission and able to close sales that you want in your business.

Aside from your personal use, high-converting network marketing prospecting scripts can be shared with your entire team. They can form the basis of a self-study and buddy-based practice program. You can transform your team into rockstars by providing them with the training they desperately need to succeed. Be the leader they need you to be and make an investment in the team.

The word “investment” may lead you to believe that this is an expensive program with a recurring monthly charge. No way. A huge portion of it is actually available for free through this link. And, once you pick up the free network marketing prospecting tools, you’ll continue to get valuable advice by email, from Todd Falcone himself. Click this link or the banner to get your copy today.

Network marketing has been around since about the 1940s when it was introduced as a business model to promote vitamins through relationship selling. At that time there were no opportunity DVDs to hand out, no websites presenting the opportunity, no automated dialers to do cold calling for you and certainly no Facebook or Twitter to promote your network marketing company to the masses. So what is the face of network marketing in the21st century? What lessons from the past still apply and what new network marketing tools are available to help the independent distributor succeed?

Network Marketing in a Brave New World

The 21st century network marketer must embrace the internet as central to their network marketing success. Even if you never send a prospect to your website or take an order via the internet, you can be sure that potential retail clients and new distributors will do background research on the internet. At a minimum, they will investigate the reputation of the network marketing company, the reputation of the products and the strength of the training and marketing system. Even if you have no intention of building an internet-centric network marketing business, you will need to be aware of the following advances. One the other hand, if you are planning to build an internet-centric network marketing business, then you really want to pay attention, because these concepts can automate many of your core processes and drastically accelerate your growth.

Video Opportunity Overviews

The internet (or a DVD) is a great way to deliver an overview on your specific network marketing opportunity. Why repeat yourself over and over again when this little piece of technology will generally do it better and more succinctly. The ideal network marketing opportunity video is about 10-13 minutes and leaves some key questions unanswered so that you can have a subsequent dialogue with the prospect.

Email Autoresponders

You’ve probably heard the network marketing adage – “the fortune is in the follow-up.” This is more true in this day and age that even before. Prospects will need multiple repeat exposure to your opportunity and your products before they are ready to make a decision. An email autoresponder series puts the network marketing follow-up process on autopilot. Simply script out the text of the email messages and load them into the autoresponder to be sent a designated number of days apart. You can load an entire year’s worth of follow-up with one afternoon of work.

Social Media

Your particular network marketing company may or may not allow you to establish your own social media page for your network marketing company. The ones that do, often provide fully compliant templates that you can erect in a matter of minutes. Even if you choose not to start your own page, you should be aware of the social buzz around your network marketing company. Are comments trending up or down in volume? What about the tone of the comments? Are there any negative sentiments that you need to address with prospects? With news – both good and bad – so easily available at our fingertips, you really need to stay on top of the headlines so that questions from prospects don’t catch you off guard.

This was just a quick review of how network marketing has changed in the 21st century. As an independent distributor in your network marketing company, what changes are you seeing?

Tools allow us to get more done In less time with less effort. Network marketing tools can deliver these efficiencies to your business. Investing in the right network marketing tools is all about working smart, not harder. Automate and eliminate the low-value work so that you can focus your limited time on the high return activities.

The Best Network Marketing Tools of 2011

Maximum Leverage by Daegan Smith

Black Book of MLM Scripts by Todd Falcone

It was really hard to limit this to just two recommendations. There are many excellent network marketing tools available. These simply rise to the top as the cream of the crop. If you’ve never heard of these you’ll probably want to know what makes each one distinctive.

Maximum Leverage – Best Internet Network Marketing Tool

It is rare to find a successful network marketer who is also an excellent teacher for beginners and advanced marketers alike. That’s what you’ll find inside Maximum Leverage by Daegan Smith. This recommendation is part tool and part training course. Daegan shows you step by step how to build a list of prospects and develop a trusting relationship with them. Here are just a few highlights.

He teaches you how to set up a website with an autoresponder form to collect names and email addresses round the clock.

He shows you how to write compelling emails that people look forward to and respond to.

He gives you the exact postcard recruiting templates you need to run a successful direct mail campaign.

He gives you the split testing stats from hundreds of headline and subject line tests.

He provides content to use in your own email marketing campaigns.

He provides tools for tracking and managing your network marketing business as it grows.

If you need a complete network marketing tools and training package, then you must at least subscribe to the 7 day mini-series Daegan offers for free. It is better than some courses that have three digits price tags. Depending on when you are reading this, you may get lucky and stumble across a $1 trial for the full program. He offers those from time-to-time. Click here to find out what promotions are running.

Black Book of MLM Scripts – Best Offline Network Marketing Tool

In this business, your words – what you say and how you say them – are your most powerful network marketing tools. Period.Full stop. You won’t ever make any serious money in this industry if you don’t present the opportunity correctly and can’t answer the five most common objections in your sleep.

If you’ve ever left a prospect meeting thinking to yourself, “I wish I had said that differently,” you need to check out an amazing network marketing tool called The Black Book of MLM Scripts. The book is a collection of scripts, one-liners, responses to questions and methods for handling objections written my network marketing legend Todd Falcone. There are over 50 different verbal and email scripts and provided for situations ranging including:

The “Curiosity Generating” Professionals Voice Mail Message

The “Long Version” Professional Voice Mail Message

The “Short and Sweet” Email that Follows a Conversation

The “Longer, More Detailed” Email that Follows a Conversation

The Money-Back Guarantee Product Script

And many, many more

Among network marketing tools that can deliver a 200% ROI and seriously impact your business tomorrow, this is in a class of its own. Click here to pick up the 80 page book.

Guard it wisely. As you take on the role of a leader in your team, the demands on your time will be intense. Develop limits and share them with your team early to avoid having your business suck up every available second.

Specific network marketing tips for time management include…

Schedule an end time for all meetings and events and stick to it.

Insist that team members pre-qualify a prospect before you (as an upline) spend time with the person.

In a third-party upline situation, give no more than 15 minutes of your time for a first interaction. (You will protect your calendar this way and make yourself seem more desirable because you don’t have all day to spend with one person.)

Don’t get in your car unless you’ve spoken to the person by phone. If they sound like a lousy prospect on the phone, don’t spend 2 hours driving to see them. Duh.

Set aside team office hours for coaching and advice. Perhaps between 3-4:30 pm. Respond to inquiries from your downline ONLY during those hours. Give them instructions for how to reach you “in an emergency” and give clear rules for what defines “an emergency”.

Make a video of frequently asked questions and refer people to it. Do not answer any question on the phone that is already answered by your FAQ video.

Spend 80% of your time with your top producers and 20% of you time with everyone else. People have to earn your face-time and attention by making positive things happen first.

Teach your emerging leaders to follow these network marketing tips for time management.

Network Marketing Tips for Recruiting

Recruiting is the lifeblood of your business. The enthusiasm and initial bulk orders of new distributors are essential to your team momentum and growth. Recruiting is a skill just like riding a surfboard. Very few people are “natural” recruiters. And, no amount of watching other people recruiting is a substitute for getting out and doing it yourself. (Think about the surfboard analogy).

Recruiting also has parallels to baseball. If you are batting .300 in baseball you are doing really well. But that still means that you don’t get on base 70% of the time. Baseball is a game of learning to accept frequent failure and celebrate rare successes. Recruiting in network marketing is the same. You must mentally expect to fail most of the time and take joy in the successes.

Specific network marketing tips for recruiting include…

Practice, practice, practice…recruiting is a skill

Practice out loud. Practice with a mirror. Practice with people.

Schedule some practices. (Just like baseball, not every day is day game. Have you ever left your house thinking “Today I’m going to practice my recruiting?” Probably not. You probably leave the house intending to recruit. Try telling yourself the whole day is about practice, and see how different your attitude is.)

Learn how to invite, before you try to learn to recruit. The art of inviting is what the new person needs to perfect. If you can invite someone to an event and have them show up, the host of the event will do the recruiting. HINT: Poor inviters are never great recruiters. Become a master inviter first.

Only recruit when you are happy. Keep some happy music nearby or play with your puppy before you recruit.

Recruiting lasts until at least 30 days after the enrollment. Once the prospect has signed the paperwork or placed their first order you actually need to keep recruiting them. They aren’t fully onboard or committed until they have a recruit of their own.

Teach your emerging leaders to follow these network marketing tips for recruiting.

There is no way to sum up 100+ years of network marketing tips and knowledge in one blog post. What are the most essential network marketing tips you think we have missed? Please share your tips (not tricks) with future readers.

The network marketing business model is best described as “taking a product or service to market through a network of people.” That’s it. Don’t make it any more complicated than that.

There are multiple ways to take a product to market. Retail stores, catalogue-only stores, on-line only stores, mail order, and direct response TV are examples that most consumers are familiar with. Network marketing is just another “go-to-market” strategy.

Network Marketing Business Analogies

When you explain the network marketing business model, try comparing and contrasting it to these other marketing methods. Often this approach gets people thinking more broadly about how business is transacted. You can point out to them how they have probably (at some point in their life) done business with all these different types of companies. Ask them have you ever bought from:

QVC or Home Shopping channel? (Direct response TV method)

Lands End or Sears? (Heavily reliant oncatalogue-sales)

Best Buy or Target? (Retail stores)

Amazon.com or eToys.com (Online-only stores)

Explain to the prospect that every company has to decide on one primary way of marketing their products. In addition to the choices above that they are familiar with, they may not know much about the network marketing business model.

The strategy in a network marketing business is to have a large sales force comprised of satisfied consumers and not invest heavily in stores, executive salaries or glitzy TV campaigns. Instead of hiring salespeople to sell the product, the company enlists the help of its existing happy customers to help spread the word.

Be Authentic in Your Network Marketing Business

The great thing about the network marketing business model is you can earn a side income or full-time income promoting a product you love. For example, I love my iPad. If I worked at an Apple Store I could look every person that walks in the door, straight in the eye and offer an enthusiastic endorsement of the iPad. It rocks. If Apple gave ordinary people the ability to earn as commissions 10-20% of every iPad sold, think about how many people would participate just to get their own iPad paid for free through referrals?

That is the network marketing business model. You have to love the product and it has to be something you’d use and recommend even if there was no business opportunity. If you find that right product, and there is a network marketing business opportunity attached to it – you’ve found a match.

Use multiple examples until the prospect realizes that getting referrals from a friend and buying through a friend are just alternate business models. The more you can keep your discussion of the network marketing business model about business in general, the better off you are. You don’t want to allow network marketing to be seen as an inferior and last-resort method of taking a product to market. Quite the contrary, many large companies are now making it the primary method of getting the word out.

We hope this article gave you some new ideas for explaining the network marketing business model to family, friends and prospects.

Looking for information on network marketing companies? The landscape of companies is always changing, so it would be pointless to create blog post with a list of network marketing companies since it would be outdated tomorrow. Instead, we created this post to point you toward reliable, up-to-the-minute lists and directories of network marketing companies.

Where to Get Network Marketing Companies Directory or List

DSA

The Direct Selling Association (DSA) is the national trade association for direct selling, mlm and network marketing companies. Membership in DSA is optional for network marketing companies and requires that member companies adhere to a code of ethics surrounding their product quality and marketing practices. The list of network marketing companies on the DSA website is great resource for companies adhering to the highest industry standards.

The list is searchable by industry, compensation structure, sales strategy, country, and product line. Find the searchable list at http://www.dsa.org/forms/CompanyFormPublicMembers/

Better Networker

Better Networker is sort of like a mini-LinkedIn website for network marketers. You can create a profile, make friends, share blog posts and links, and join the conversation about your mlm company. Unlike DSA, Better Networker relies on user-generated content so you can get opinions about the compensation plan, products and sales support directly from the current distributors and reps. The great thing about the list of network marketing companies on Better Networker is that it is remarkably current and includes almost all the small and start-up companies. Since the content is user-generated, there is a first-mover advantage to being the first to list a new network marketing company on the site. Make sure you read the comments with a skeptical eye, since people use this site not just to collaborate, but also to recruit. The company list can be found at http://www.betternetworker.com/companies

Where to Get Network Marketing Companies Rankings

Inc 500. and Fortune 500

Magazine or Fortune. Fortune publishes a list of the top 5000 global companies by revenue. Inc. publishes an annual list of the 500 fastest growing companies. Both lists often contain anywhere between 3 and 8% network marketing companies. These types of establish business ranking lists are a great way to demonstrate to prospects that the company is stable, large and legal. You can visit the magazine’s visit or go to your local bookstore to get the business rankings issue.

BusinessForHome.org

You can also quickly research pending lawsuits and pre-launch network marketing companies.

In most cases they only make a portion of each list available for free as teaser content. Some of the full lists require a membership. Despite the modest cost, if you really need ranking data, this is the place to get it. Click to visit the network marketing companies rankings.

It doesn’t really matter what your product line is, there is an internet network marketing angle to every opportunity. Certainly some companies and products are more internet-friendly than others, but I suspect you’ll find that the internet network marketing tips and training ideas on this page will work just about anywhere. Ready? Let’s dive in…

Internet Network Marketing Tips

You probably came here looking for technical internet network marketing tips. The reality is that most of the work you need to do is probably in your head and on your strategy. Ask yourself honestly if you are doing the following three things.

Be Guided by Conversions

Internet network marketing isn’t about making friends or being liked. It is about results and the numbers never lie. You must allow yourself to be guided by the conversion numbers. Every tweak you make, every blog post your write, every new traffic source you investigate needs to be laser-focused on increasing your internet network marketing conversions. NOTE: This is especially true for all you social butterflies spending all day on Facebook.

Be the Best Version of Yourself

Being true to yourself is definitely good advice, but in internet network marketing you need to be the best version of yourself. This is the version of you that puts on nice clothes and selects an attractive background for a video. This is the version of you that skips a $40 dinner and movie so you can have a professional header graphic designed. It is the version of you that fixes your spelling and grammar mistakes in your writing. People can spot a fake a mile away, but they can also spot a business owner that doesn’t care enough to put the best foot forward.

Focus on One Traffic Strategy

If you run an internet network marketing business then you need traffic. But which method should you choose? PPC? SEO? Email? Banner Ads? Pop-ups? Pop-unders? Facebook? Twitter? Need I list more? You can go absolute bonkers (and broke) trying to become an expert at all these methods simultaneously. You need to investigate all the options and have enough information to choose one internet network marketing traffic source to start with. Don’t move on to method two until you have 300 or more monthly visitors from method one. If you are currently pursuing more than one method, stop. Pick one. Seriously, pick one and become a master at it. Mine is SEO. What’s yours?

Internet Network Marketing Training

When I bought my first internet network marketing training course it was created by an internet network marketer. It was notably not created by a long-time network marketer or a long-time internet marketer. Why is that important?

I’ve found that the pure network marketers offer the best training on the closing skills and leadership skills needed to succeed in any network marketing business. The pure internet marketers offer the best training on website design, seo and traffic generation.

There are a small, small handful of internet network marketers that are really able to teach both sides at an acceptable standard. After all people psychology and website technology are two totally different realms of knowledge. When you start looking for training programs you should really approach it like a pyramid.

Learn network marketing – has been around for over a hundred years

Learn internet marketing – has been around for 15ish years

Learn internet network marketing – has been around for ~3 years in a big way.

In categories 1 and 2 there are several options we could recommend. In addition to checking out our recommended generalist trainers below you’ll probably want to learn motivation from a great motivator and seo from a great seo expert.

In category 3 there is one trainer we believe to be superior. He has reached the pinnacle of the pyramid because he is able to teach the people-side and technical-side of internet network marketing equally well. This is a rare gift. You’ll find lots of self-proclaimed gurus running around, but this is the real deal.

In this article we explore and exposed some of the half-truths, misconceptions and outright lies surrounding lead generation for your network marketing business. Ready? There are a few shockers in here.

Do you agree? Disagree? Have a story to share? Please leave your comments at the bottom.

Network Marketing Lead Generation Runs on Autopilot if You Have My Super-Fantastic-Awesome System

Verdict = Fiction.
There is some part of our brains that is a sucker for the age-old pitch– you don’t have to do anything at all, just plug it in and reap the rewards. This pitch has been around since the beginning of time for weight loss products and hair-growth miracles and for now network marketing lead generation. It’s not true and you know it.

Businesses take work and your network marketing business is no different. If you aren’t ready to work harder than you’ve ever worked before, network marketing may not be the right fit for you. My own mlm mentor is fond of saying, “Don’t promise them anything but hard work”.

The Element of Truth.
The kernel of truth in this statement about network marketing lead generation systems is that all businesses need a system. Think of McDonalds or your local car wash. The only way that the owner will ever be able to stop working in the business and enjoy the residual income of his creation is with a replicable business system.

Network Marketing Lead Generation Can be 100% Free

Verdict = Fiction.
Time has value. In many ways time has more value that money because time cannot be replenished or transferred, but I’ll spare you the philosophical musings. Network marketing lead generation takes time or money or both. It is never free.

The Element of Truth.

The reason this headline shows up so often is that there are network marketing lead generation methods where you invest your time now in order to have free lead flow in the future. Among these methods SEO is generally the first free network marketing lead generation method on the list. Let me tell you from personal experience that is does work, but the investment to learn SEO and automated the many repetitive tasks is far, far from free.

Network Marketing Lead Generation is Better than Buying Leads

Verdict = In Our Opinion Yes

Some marketers skip the lead generation step and buy mlm leads from network marketing lead generation companies. It is a fast way to get yourself on the phone or in front of live prospects today. Because of the speed advantage, it is sometimes a good short-term strategy. Buy network marketing leads allows you to test your closing skills and the value of your opportunity, team and product line. It is nice to find out in the first week that your company, products and upline suck (if they do) rather than invest months in a network marketing lead generation program and find that out later.

The Long Run.

If you are in this for the long-run, you will eventually need to break from buying leads and do your own network marketing lead generation. Think about your hairdresser, your financial advisor or your insurance agent. Each of them probably buys a couple leads here and there, but none of them are betting the whole future of the company on someone else supplying the customers. Making the transition to network marketing lead generation isn’t all about cost. It’s actually about control of the levers that matter in your business.

We’ve got some great other blog posts about network marketing training options. Most of these focus heavily on lead generation, with the rest of the training focusing on closing skills and team leadership. The common message you’ll find in all the articles is that you should explore a couple different network marketing lead generation methods before you pick one to specialize in.

After reviewing all the options, I picked SEO, but that may not for the right choice for you. To help you decide, I’d like to refer you to the network marketing lead generation program that I believe does the best job of explaining your options and the pros and cons of each method. This isn’t a network marketing lead generation system, but rather a free training program that will teach you about the different systems available to you. Choose wisely and get really, really good at it. Click here to check it out.

Let me guess. You’ve created a network marketing blog complete with graphical headers, opt-in boxes and banner ads for your favorite affiliate programs, but you aren’t making any money because you don’t have sufficient traffic to your a network marketing blog. Now that the blog is up and running, you’ve realized that just having a network marketing blog is only half the battle. The other half is blog traffic. You’ve landed on this post looking for a network marketing blog traffic strategies, tools or training. Am I right so far?

Or perhaps you don’t have a network marketing blog yet and are thinking about creating one. You’ll be glad you landed here because a blog without any traffic won’t make any money or generate any leads. Be sure you have a traffic plan for leading people to your blog.

Either way, you are in the right place. This particular network marketing blog gets plenty of traffic and I can teach you how to do it too. This will be an overview article discussing your options for network marketing blog traffic. We can’t possibly teach you how to do all this stuff in one article…but the tutorials and resources on rest of the site will get you pretty far.

Network Marketing Blog Traffic Sources

Search Engines

Paid Search

You can run pay-per-click (PPC) ads on any of the major search engines. When someone searches for a keyword like “network marketing blog” your ad will be served to them. A click takes them directly to your website. You pay for each click. The amount depends on how many other advertisers you are competing with. You can turn it on or turn it off at any time.

Organic Search

Organic search is also called SEO or search engine optimization. This is the process of optimizing your website to appear high in the free search results for a particular keyword phrase. It takes time and patience, but once your network marketing blog ranks well for a couple popular searches, you’ll get lots of free clicks and visitors.

Referring Sites

Text Ads/Banner Ads

You can place sponsored links, text ads and banner ads on other websites to bring in referral traffic to your own website. This can be done through large ad servers that place links on thousands of sites or by negotiating directly with the owner of the target site. Prices will vary and most consumers will know it is a paid ad. Turn on or off at any time.

Content Links

Every site owner needs content. When you provide quality content in the form of a guest blog post or a useful blog comment you are generally able to provide a link back to your own network marketing blog. If the reader enjoys your article or finds your comment helpful (and if you have something enticing to offer them on your site) they will often click the link to visit.

Email

Email is a fast and cheap way to reach many people. If you don’t have your own large email list yet you can do a list rental. This allows you to send a promotional message to thousands of people at a time. You can do a solo ad where you are the only sponsor of the email or have your message batched with other advertisers. Prices are based on list size, quality and how prominently your message is featured.

Smart Phones

QR codes and text messages are two ways to get people to your blog from smart phones. This strategy is currently very effective because not many people are doing it, but you want to make sure you have a mobile-friendly network marketing blog before sending a bunch of smart phone traffic to it. Stay tuned to this one…it is the wave of the future.

Offline

Ever heard of drop cards? They are mini-advertisements printed on business card-sized paper than you can drop around town. The card directs people to your network marketing blog for more information about the headline on the card. They are very inexpensive to print and easy to work into your daily routine.

Getting Started with Network Marketing Blog Traffic

The smartest thing you can do is to learn a little bit about each of the options for network marketing blog traffic and then select ONE strategy to get really good at. Don’t try to do them all at the same time. Build up your blog traffic to 300 or more visitors per month from a single method before launching into any others. This amount of traffic will be enough to give you early feedback on the effectiveness of the offer and opt-ins on your network marketing blog. The rest is tweaking, refining and adding more traffic.

At networkmarketingleadsblog.com we maintain a list of recommended free and paid programs to learn traffic strategies for your network marketing blog. At the moment, we are recommending you start with this one => Get Started

Don’t let the word “investing” in the title scare you away. There are excellent free network marketing training programs out there, but even if you don’t invest any money, you will be investing your time and trust in the instructor/creator of the program. Here are the 4 questions you need to ask yourself before diving head first into a network marketing training program.

What is the useful lifetime of the skills taught in this network marketing training program?

This question is listed first because it is the most frequently overlooked by novice network marketers, especially anyone interested in online network marketing training. The profession of network marketing has been around for 100+ years and some recruiting and sales tactics associated with it have worked well for decades. Other tactics are more fleeting and capitalize on short-term opportunities. Do you want a long-term business based on solid principles or a shaky business reliant on a sneaky tactic? In screening network marketing training programs avoid any programs that promise or promote “loopholes”, “secrets”, “tricks”, “proprietary software” or “black-hat” methods. These words are littered across the sales pages of most network marketing training programs. Buyer beware. You want solid, foundational skills, not loopholes.

What level of student is this network marketing training designed for?

It is impossible for any network marketing training program to address the needs of the beginner and the veteran alike in a single course. Even attempting this pretty much guarantees that you will disappoint both groups. Many network marketing training courses are promoted as one-size-fits-all in order to attract the widest possible audience, but this is a marketing mistake. Beginners should buy beginner courses and experts should buy expert courses. You know which one you are! Don’t let the sales copy for the program convince you otherwise. Start with the basic and work your way up. You can’t do calculus if you’ve never succeeded with algebra or arithmetic.

What is the upfront and ongoing cost of this network marketing training program?

At the risk of angering the creators of many network marketing training programs that I actually really like, I’m coming out against membership-based training programs with an on-going monthly cost. Why? These are great for the program creators, but hardly ever the most cost-effective choice for the consumer. Allow me to explain.

If you join a network marketing training program for $67 per month, you should dive in during the first month and learn as much as you possible can from that course. In the second month, you need to think about whether you’d be better off paying another $67 for the same program, or buying program from a different author, a more advanced program or a piece of software to implement the ideas you learned with the same $67. You are almost always better off with the second option. True, you might miss some great content in month two or three of the original program, but it is more important to diversify across multiple network marketing training programs.

As a rule of thumb, you should be spending at least double your monthly autoship (or a minimum of $150 per month) or building a better business system so you can grow faster. If you don’t have $1800 per year to invest in your business, you should reevaluate your choice to be in business.

What evidence is available that past students have successfully applied what they learned?

This sounds so obvious. Clearly you don’t want to buy a network marketing training program that no one is finding success with. But, our psychology is often easily fooled by a well-written sales letter or video. Here is how it works. Everyone is naturally attracted to the big success stories – big lottery jackpots, big inheritances, big residual checks. But, it is actually much more important to know how many people got mid-sized lottery winnings, mid-sized inheritances and mid-sized residual checks. These stats are much less sexy and flashy, so there often aren’t emphasized.

You need to avoid any network marketing training offer that is based on the large success of a few individuals and look for moderate successes of many individuals. The reviews and testimonials on the sales page are the best place to look. How many are there? Do they represent different socio-economic groups, genders, races and geographies? The broader the reviews and testimonials the better.

Lastly, try to determine if the network marketing training program is partly or wholly responsible for the success that is claimed or if they bought the training program after already being successful in network marketing. This last issue is rampant and makes me so angry…people selling systems that they themselves never used.

NOT ON THE LIST: What are the credentials of the instructor or network marketing training program creator?

You may have noticed that the credentials of the instructor or program creator are not among the list of 4 questions. This was not an accident. While having done it yourself can be a great route to being an effective teacher, there are plenty of mentors that are not smashing successes themselves, but provide really high quality network marketing training. Think about it. Some pro and college football coaches were elite-level players, but many excellent coaches were only average players. They’ve risen to the top of the coaching ranks despite never having been an elite player because they know how to teach and how to create a system that works.

The conclusion – You shouldn’t buy a network marketing training program from someone who has never been in the business, but you don’t need to restrict yourself to superstars.

The term online network marketing gets tossed around casually by different people meaning different things. No doubt you came across the term (and search for it) because someone told you that taking your network marketing business online was a guaranteed path to success. We’ll let’s be realistic, there are no guarantees (especially not in network marketing), but there are a lot of positive thing happening with online network marketing that you should be aware of so you can figure out it that direction is right for you.

The term online network marketing really encompasses at least 3 totally different realms – Products, Lead Generation and Social Proof – and we will explore each of these separately. Contrary to popular opinion online network marketing isn’t just for online products and services. If you provide a physical product or offline service, keep reading to understand how online network marketing factors into your lead generation and can be used to establish credibility.

Online Network Marketing: Online Products and Services

If you provide an online product or service you already know it. If you are selling a product or service online, ecommerce development will be an essential pillar in your online success. For everyone else, the types of network marketing products that we are talking about in this section are products such as discount programs, travel programs, financial services or training programs. All of these products and services are intangible. There is no physical item to hold, touch and smell.

If you promote an intangible product, you can use online network marketing techniques across your entire marketing, sales and delivery process. You can generate the lead online, explain the product online, close the transaction online and deliver the purchase online. An online product or service allows you to build a truly virtual company that you can operate from anywhere and that doesn’t require your physical presence. If you are an introvert or are tired of home-meetings occupying your evenings and weekends, an intangible product is the right choice for your online network marketing endeavors.

With a physical product, you can use online network marketing tactics for lead generation, education and transaction processing, but there will typically be an intermediate in-person step. No matter how much online education is available, almost all new customers will want to taste any edible products, try on any fashion products or feel and home décor products. Note that we say “new” customers in the previous sentence. For existing customers and are familiar with the product quality or taste, online network marketing can be highly effective for reorders or introducing a new seasonal product line.

Online Network Marketing: Online Lead Generation

No matter what product or service you are promoting, lead generation is universally the central focus of your online network marketing program. One 2011 study found that 900 million people access the internet from a PC at home and a whopping 1.6 billion active mobile phone subscriptions. In his 2011 State of the Union address, President Obama committed to providing 98% of all Americans with high-speed wireless internet access in the next five years. There has been no other time in history where a new, solo entrepreneur could use technology and a little savvy know-how to reach a market of millions from their home.

The power of online network marketing is best applied toward lead generation. You put your offer in front of hundreds, thousands or millions of people, they self-select in our out. You’ve probably heard your upline sponsor refer to the practice of “sifting and sorting”. The internet is the most powerful way to automate the front-end portion of this process. Allow automated systems to screen prospects and pass you only the most qualified leads for further personal follow-up.

Online lead generation applies equally to product and service sales and to finding new downline distributors. While the message and the offer will be different, the concepts and technical aspects of the online network marketing system are the same. Once you learn online lead generation you can apply it to any company and any product line.

Online Network Marketing: Social Proof

The unique role of the internet as a validator of claims is often over-looked in discussions of online network marketing. When people encounter new information and aren’t sure whether to trust the information (or the source) they look for validation from sources that they DO trust. Trusted sources might include impartial newspapers, research publications, parents, long-time friends or credentialed experts. The more reinforcement of the central message they get from the sources they trust most, the more they believe the original claim.

But does the opinion of one expert really outweigh the opinion of 1 stranger. How about 1 expert versus 100 strangers. What about a 10,000 ordinary strangers all saying the same thing? At some point the qualifications of the source become somewhat irrelevant and sheer numbers take over.

The internet can make or break your company or product based on social proof alone. This has nothing to do with lead generation or sales, this aspect of online network marketing is about brand reputation. Even if you are not generating leads online or selling online, you need to be aware of the online chatter about your company and its products or services and whether it is trending negative or positive.

Online Network Marketing: Getting Started

We have looked at three aspect of online network marketing to give you a sense for its diversity. While there are a handful of networkers that succeed 100% online, the vast majority are using the internet for specific strategic objectives which support their offline efforts. Some might use the internet for lead generation, others for social networking, others for team training and yet others for record-keeping and administration. In fact, the most effective business systems we have ever seen, combine online and offline methods to reach the prospect through multiple modalities.

That’s why we have one primary online network marketing training system that we recommend. The creators of this program a wicked-smart about all the advanced online tactics, but are keenly aware that they are most powerful when combined with offline print, radio or mail strategies. Also, the creators of this online network marketing program were beginners themselves not long ago and are able to teach as if they were in a beginner’s shoes. If you are ready for advanced, that’s in there too.

Ready to get started? Click the link at the end of the paragraph to begin the only online network marketing training program you’ll ever need. Did we mention it is free? Get started now. => Begin training.
