In this article we explore and exposed some of the half-truths, misconceptions and outright lies surrounding lead generation for your network marketing business. Ready? There are a few shockers in here.

Do you agree? Disagree? Have a story to share? Please leave your comments at the bottom.

Network Marketing Lead Generation Runs on Autopilot if You Have My Super-Fantastic-Awesome System

Verdict = Fiction.
There is some part of our brains that is a sucker for the age-old pitch– you don’t have to do anything at all, just plug it in and reap the rewards. This pitch has been around since the beginning of time for weight loss products and hair-growth miracles and for now network marketing lead generation. It’s not true and you know it.

Businesses take work and your network marketing business is no different. If you aren’t ready to work harder than you’ve ever worked before, network marketing may not be the right fit for you. My own mlm mentor is fond of saying, “Don’t promise them anything but hard work”.

The Element of Truth.
The kernel of truth in this statement about network marketing lead generation systems is that all businesses need a system. Think of McDonalds or your local car wash. The only way that the owner will ever be able to stop working in the business and enjoy the residual income of his creation is with a replicable business system.

Network Marketing Lead Generation Can be 100% Free

Verdict = Fiction.
Time has value. In many ways time has more value that money because time cannot be replenished or transferred, but I’ll spare you the philosophical musings. Network marketing lead generation takes time or money or both. It is never free.

The Element of Truth.

The reason this headline shows up so often is that there are network marketing lead generation methods where you invest your time now in order to have free lead flow in the future. Among these methods SEO is generally the first free network marketing lead generation method on the list. Let me tell you from personal experience that is does work, but the investment to learn SEO and automated the many repetitive tasks is far, far from free.

Network Marketing Lead Generation is Better than Buying Leads

Verdict = In Our Opinion Yes

Some marketers skip the lead generation step and buy mlm leads from network marketing lead generation companies. It is a fast way to get yourself on the phone or in front of live prospects today. Because of the speed advantage, it is sometimes a good short-term strategy. Buy network marketing leads allows you to test your closing skills and the value of your opportunity, team and product line. It is nice to find out in the first week that your company, products and upline suck (if they do) rather than invest months in a network marketing lead generation program and find that out later.

The Long Run.

If you are in this for the long-run, you will eventually need to break from buying leads and do your own network marketing lead generation. Think about your hairdresser, your financial advisor or your insurance agent. Each of them probably buys a couple leads here and there, but none of them are betting the whole future of the company on someone else supplying the customers. Making the transition to network marketing lead generation isn’t all about cost. It’s actually about control of the levers that matter in your business.

We’ve got some great other blog posts about network marketing training options. Most of these focus heavily on lead generation, with the rest of the training focusing on closing skills and team leadership. The common message you’ll find in all the articles is that you should explore a couple different network marketing lead generation methods before you pick one to specialize in.

After reviewing all the options, I picked SEO, but that may not for the right choice for you. To help you decide, I’d like to refer you to the network marketing lead generation program that I believe does the best job of explaining your options and the pros and cons of each method. This isn’t a network marketing lead generation system, but rather a free training program that will teach you about the different systems available to you. Choose wisely and get really, really good at it. Click here to check it out.

Let me guess. You’ve created a network marketing blog complete with graphical headers, opt-in boxes and banner ads for your favorite affiliate programs, but you aren’t making any money because you don’t have sufficient traffic to your a network marketing blog. Now that the blog is up and running, you’ve realized that just having a network marketing blog is only half the battle. The other half is blog traffic. You’ve landed on this post looking for a network marketing blog traffic strategies, tools or training. Am I right so far?

Or perhaps you don’t have a network marketing blog yet and are thinking about creating one. You’ll be glad you landed here because a blog without any traffic won’t make any money or generate any leads. Be sure you have a traffic plan for leading people to your blog.

Either way, you are in the right place. This particular network marketing blog gets plenty of traffic and I can teach you how to do it too. This will be an overview article discussing your options for network marketing blog traffic. We can’t possibly teach you how to do all this stuff in one article…but the tutorials and resources on rest of the site will get you pretty far.

Network Marketing Blog Traffic Sources

Search Engines

Paid Search

You can run pay-per-click (PPC) ads on any of the major search engines. When someone searches for a keyword like “network marketing blog” your ad will be served to them. A click takes them directly to your website. You pay for each click. The amount depends on how many other advertisers you are competing with. You can turn it on or turn it off at any time.

Organic Search

Organic search is also called SEO or search engine optimization. This is the process of optimizing your website to appear high in the free search results for a particular keyword phrase. It takes time and patience, but once your network marketing blog ranks well for a couple popular searches, you’ll get lots of free clicks and visitors.

Referring Sites

Text Ads/Banner Ads

You can place sponsored links, text ads and banner ads on other websites to bring in referral traffic to your own website. This can be done through large ad servers that place links on thousands of sites or by negotiating directly with the owner of the target site. Prices will vary and most consumers will know it is a paid ad. Turn on or off at any time.

Content Links

Every site owner needs content. When you provide quality content in the form of a guest blog post or a useful blog comment you are generally able to provide a link back to your own network marketing blog. If the reader enjoys your article or finds your comment helpful (and if you have something enticing to offer them on your site) they will often click the link to visit.

Email

Email is a fast and cheap way to reach many people. If you don’t have your own large email list yet you can do a list rental. This allows you to send a promotional message to thousands of people at a time. You can do a solo ad where you are the only sponsor of the email or have your message batched with other advertisers. Prices are based on list size, quality and how prominently your message is featured.

Smart Phones

QR codes and text messages are two ways to get people to your blog from smart phones. This strategy is currently very effective because not many people are doing it, but you want to make sure you have a mobile-friendly network marketing blog before sending a bunch of smart phone traffic to it. Stay tuned to this one…it is the wave of the future.

Offline

Ever heard of drop cards? They are mini-advertisements printed on business card-sized paper than you can drop around town. The card directs people to your network marketing blog for more information about the headline on the card. They are very inexpensive to print and easy to work into your daily routine.

Getting Started with Network Marketing Blog Traffic

The smartest thing you can do is to learn a little bit about each of the options for network marketing blog traffic and then select ONE strategy to get really good at. Don’t try to do them all at the same time. Build up your blog traffic to 300 or more visitors per month from a single method before launching into any others. This amount of traffic will be enough to give you early feedback on the effectiveness of the offer and opt-ins on your network marketing blog. The rest is tweaking, refining and adding more traffic.

At networkmarketingleadsblog.com we maintain a list of recommended free and paid programs to learn traffic strategies for your network marketing blog. At the moment, we are recommending you start with this one => Get Started

Drop Cards are some of the most cost effective, easy to implement and fun methods of driving an endless flood of prospects to your website.

A Drop Card is nothing more than a bit of paper that you purposefully ‘drop’ or leave behind you. Typically these are the size and shape of a business cards or they are printed to look like a $100 bill on one side. The idea is uncomplicated. “Drop these Cards” everywhere people gather. Let numbers work for you. People will pick up your card, read it, keep it and respond if they are curious. Or, people will pick up your card, read it and put it back where they found it.

If you saw a $10, $20 or $100 bill lying on the ground I’m sure you would pick it up, right? Flip it over and there is an intriguing statement such as “Fire Your Boss. #1 Home-Based Business” or “Need More Leads? Need More Reps?” or “If You Want to Work for the Rest of Your Life, That’s Your Business; If You Don’t That’s My Business.” In addition to your catch phrase, the only other thing on your Drop Card should be a Website URL.The video is an invitation to find out more; it is not the time to reveal details of your network marketing bsuiness.

Not many cards are thrown away. The hundred dollar bill cards are very viral; one person finds it and shows a friend who shows another friend. The viral use of these bills basically will get your network marketing business in front of many more would-be customers and prospects. Responses are just a matter of time if you are putting the cards out consistently. Curiosity first; eyeballs second. This is a strategy that the newest, most timid member of your team can implement.

What should be on your website? A video; fewer than 200 words of text and a capture form asking for a name, email and phone number. In the video, thank the person for taking the time to visit your site. Reassure them that you are a real person and have useful information to share. Explain that providing contact information separates the ‘curious’ from the ‘serious’ and that you only spend time with the ‘serious’. Be yourself and be brief. Don’t promote your specific network marketing opportunity in the video.

Finally, where should you drop your drop cards? Here are fifteen ideas to get you started. Any place where people must wait is a fabulous choice.

1.In hotel rooms
2.In airplane in-flight magazines
3.Tanning Salons
4.Fairs
5.Sporting events
6.At bus stops and in buses
7. In gas station credit card readers – people have to pull them out to put their credit card in.
8.In free real estate magazines you find in stacks around town.
9.At the gym
10.Inside business & MLM books at your local bookstore
11.In taxi cabs
12.In restaurant booths
13.In doctor’s office magazines
14.Laundromats
15.Concerts

Drop cards work, they always have, and they always will because they appeal to the basic human curiosity factor in all of us. If you are not currently using drop cards in your regular routine add this method today.

We all love the Google Keyword Tool and Market Samurai, but what if there was a way to get only home business, mlm and network marketing related words without sorting and sfting through unrelated words?

Problem #1: Short words only

The keywords returned by the Google External Keyword tool and other paid tools like Market Samurai are often only 2 or 3 words in length. If you type in “MLM leads” ( a two word phrase) you will get back other two and three word phrases. That is somewhat expected. But, when you type in a longer phrase like prequalified MLM leads in the UK (a 6 word phrase) you still get back 2 and 3 word phrases. All of these tools are no good at discovering longtail keywords. Two or three words is the most you are going to get.

Problem #2: No location specific words returned

Consider the example of “prequalified MLM leads in the UK” or any other search containing a location like “work from home in Oregon” or “earn online income in Denver”. It would be nice if the keyword tools would return words that used the same city, state or country that you used in your query. For any of you that have ever tried it you know already that this doesn’t happen. The location qualifier is largely dropped or ignored. That makes it hard to develop a list of MLM keywords to target a specific region.

Problem #3: No company specific terms returned

Given how smart the Google search engine is, you would expect that if you type the name of an MLM company or the name of one of its products, that it would return the names of other products from the same company. But, if you type in “monavie active” (one of the juice types) the search engine does NOT return “monavie mmun”, “monavie pulse” or “monavie emv” (the names of three other products). That means you have to manually compile lists of products and companies.

Problem #4: No leader names returned

One great way of attracting online MLM traffic is the use of leader names in articles and ads. Every company has its short list of top income earners. Wouldn’t it be great if the free keyword search tools could spit out the names of all the diamonds in Amway? We all know that it can’t. That forces online network marketers to hunt for names one-by-one – a laborious and time-consuming process.

Problem solved:

There is a way to get a searchable list of longtail keywords that solves all of these problems. Check out Best MLM Keywords for a clever solution.

E-mail marketing is one of numerous options (videos, articles, blogging, social media) to get started marketing online. The appeal of email marketing is that the content creation requirement is much lower than for blogging, articles or videos. A catchy title, and clear value proposition and a call to action and email marketing begins generating traffic to your website. How to write good email copy is beyond the scope of this post. Here we consider the question… who do I send my emails to?

Number one – Do not spam. Always send your messages only to people who have opted-into the list and make it clear how to unsubscribe. So where does that leave the brand new person with no opt-in list to send to?

Fortunately there are several existing lists with tens of thousands of subscribers that you can start emailing (with permission) as early as today. Three of these are found at ListJoe.com, ViralHosts.com and ViralURL.com. The rest of this article gives you an introduction to what to expect and how to maximize your return from these services.

First, set up a SEPARATE, email account to use with either Viral URL, Viral Hosts or List Joe. In order to send email to their lists of tens of thousands of subscribers, you have to agree to receive about 30-50 emails per day yourself. You don’t want all these messages mixed with your personal mail. The email you set up can be a free email from Gmail or an email account associated with your domain name. For example, if your main email address is andreakropp @ thisismydomain.com then you could set up andrea.kropp@thisismydomain or andrea-kropp @ thisismydomain.com. Take the 10 minutes to set up a separate email address or you will hate yourself later.

ListJoe, Viral Hosts and Viral URL are free to use, but you’ll get the best return on your time if you accept the one-time offer to upgrade your account. As a free member you have to click on other people’s emails to earn credits to be able to send your own message. Clicking on other people’s messages is a great way to study ad copy and capture pages, but you don’t want to be forced to do it. The upgrade offer was $97 per year when I did it. It is only presented to you at this price once, so decide from this post whether you intend to do it or not. With an upgraded membership you can send 3,000 emails every 3 days and you don’t have to read anybody else’s. (Again, I encourage you to study the ad copy and landing pages among what you receive, but who wants to spend half a day clicking for credits?)

Built into the systems are analytic packages that allow you to A/B test different messages. This is a great way to control for the time of day your message is sent. If you queue 3000 messages you can split those 1500/1500. When you come back a few days later the system will report how many opens each of your versions had so you can determine which is better. You should only test one of three things at a time – subject, body and link URL. The science of A/B testing is a whole series of posts itself.

Another nice feature is that the system will save your past messages. If you write a winner you can simply log in every three days and send that winner over and over with about 10 minutes of effort. They’ll even send you a reminder message when it’s time to email again.

It is important to understand that the open rates for Viral URL, Viral Hosts and List Joe are higher than traditional email marketing because of the incentive to earn credits. These companies correctly advertise high delivery rates and high click-through rates (CTR). You just need to understand that many people are clicking on the link in your message just to get credits for themselves. For this reason having a video that starts playing automatically is probably the best way to capture the attention of someone who was just clicking for credits.

Depending on the quality of your email copy and the quality of your landing pages you can expect about 2 to 5 opt-ins per 3000 emails sent. (This is based on my personal experience so I encourage you to try to do better!) At an average of 3 people per mailing every 3 days across the year that amounts to 3* 365/3 = 365 leads. The $97 dollars is well worth it when you can generate leads at 97/365 = 27 cents each. No pay-per-click campaign will ever be that cheap. And, you’ll learn an awful lot about what ad copy and what capture pages are effective should you want to engage in pay-per-click later.

That’s it for this getting started article. You can check out ListJoe.com, ViralHosts.com and ViralURL.com to see which is best for you.

The core of your online marketing program and key to growing your subscriber base are your capture pages. Make a good first impression. Since online network marketing lead generation is first and foremost a about numbers, you must maximize your website traffic and the conversion of traffic into email list subscriptions. The key to this is having a compelling capture page.

Effective capture pages that generate high numbers of online network marketing leads are the ones that offer a preview, sneak peak or trial version of the product or service offered. Very few people will sign up without some type of free offer or reason for giving you their email. Your incentive of a free offer, web seminar, e-book or trial version of a paid software is what will make the visitor willing to provide their personal information. Basically you’re getting permission to market to them further in exchange for letting them access to more comprehensive information.

The best capture pages are structured in the form of a very short sales message promoting your product or service’s unique value propositions. The content should state very concisely and succinctly what the benefits are to the customer and must be easy to digest. You make sure you create the message with the audience in mind. The core message should match the keywords and messages you placed in your ads, email marketing and other promotional materials. Maintaining a consistent message will avoid lost conversions due to confusion or mixed messaging. Tying landing page text to keywords will also help you achieve better results in Google’s organic search.

If your text is compelling and well-composed, has impact on the readers, and communicates the unique value propositions for your product or service, you will have a captive audience and your email lists will grow. All things working together at 110% will produce results.

Seem complicated? You’ll also want to watch your results carefully on a monthly basis and adjust headlines, value propositions and body copy to see how it affects your conversions. It’s a lot of trial and error and over time you will see what produces best results. Also, you’ll need to buy and point your domain names, open accounts with a good web hosting company and be able to create HTML, or hire a web designer to do it.

Here’s some free advice that will help you generate online network marketing leads from capture pages on day 1, day 2 and day 3, rather than month 3, month 4 and month 5. The best have joined forces to offer turnkey sales and marketing systems for network marketers. If you’re new to online network marketing, then software like MLM Lead System Pro can have you fully equipped and ready in no time.

Personalized website capture pages are templated and easy to set up for subscribers to use to grow their own membership. The templates have a track record of performing well, and are inexpensively hosted by MLM Lead System Pro, so that you won’t need to worry about hiring a website developer or finding your own hosting company.

Still sound difficult? It shouldn’t now. With proven technology and solid mentor you can be up and running in 24 hours.

Across this five part series, we’ve gone over a lot of ways to generate free traffic to your blog and websites, from email marketing to third party blogging to article marketing. These can all generate consistent online network marketing leads. There is another important method which should not be left out as it can build quality long lasting website traffic as well. You should strongly consider a viral video marketing strategy as part of your marketing mix.

It’s now easy to produce videos for use online. It no longer requires a videographer, camera crew or editing team to produce quality video content. Today’s digital cameras, camcorders, webcams, screen capture softwares and even cellphones all are capable of creating videos.

Let’s pretend for a minute that you’ve already come up with an idea for a video and have already created it. What’s next? You must distribute the video to as large an audience as possible in order for it to produce leads. The rise of popularity in viral videos online creates a potentially huge circulation.

One thing to remember is to brand your video throughout. Build in your website logo and link to your website throughout the video, either as an intro, a watermark throughout, or an embedded footer visible the entire time. This is key when using online video services to distribute your video.

Don’t forget to embed your video in your blog and link it up from as many places as possible. Email links to it to your subscriber list, post it in your Facebook account, blast it out through Twitter, and submit it to Digg and other social bookmarking websites. This will help you rank better in Google for various keywords due to the number of backlinks you have created.

You’ll need to submit your video to the major online video services. YouTube is a major one, but there are a ton of viable video services which have large pools of users on them regularly. You can find the right video sites by searching for keywords that are similar to your video and see where other videos of your type are being distributed. Take some time and find as many as possible.

Maximizing viral reach is achieved by getting the video submitted to as many websites as possible. It takes time to find the sites and it takes time to submit the video to each media service. You really don’t need to do this manually as described in the preceding paragraph. Again, technology is your friend.

Try a trial membership to a video sharing program called Traffic Geyser. It allows you to upload your video file and the required keywords and author data, and submit it all at once to a large number of video sharing websites. This feature alone saves lots of time. It also gives you access to a huge library of licensed images and a slideshow creator so that you can produce animated instructional videos without a camera or production software. It’s a quick way to get started without having to learn all the technical aspects of creating web-quality video.

You also get important SEO benefits from the creation of automatic back links to your website through the videos. You’ll be amazed when you see your video appearing on top of Google for highly relevant keyword strings tied to your video about your products or services. And your video can show up for the keywords associated with it in just over 24 hours! For those of you who’ve had a website for months or years and are disappointed with its lack of position in Google for its homepage and sub-pages, this is a godsend

All of these thing can equal high amounts of organic traffic flowing to your website for as long as your position is tops. Of course, there are other factors to consider such as keyword selection and how competitive the keyword and string are, but the overall concept works. You can get the hang of generating traffic and online network marketing leads through video marketing through use of software such as Traffic Geyser combined with personal assistance and mentoring.

No one strategy will bring in the amounts of traffic you need to drive the sales conversions that will make you a successful, viable online business. A successful online marketing plan requires a mix of components that can be activated, adjusted or discontinued quickly as something that works great one week may not produce results the next. Generating online network marketing leads means reacting quickly to changes and trying a variety of techniques to get results.

A type of viral marketing that drives highly targeted traffic to your website is aggressive article marketing. There are hundreds of high traffic article and resource websites that will accept and post articles for free for a variety of topics.

These directory websites get very strong natural Google search results because they have a long history online combined with highly organized hierarchy, depth of content and lots of text. You can piggyback on this top position and drive significant traffic to your website by getting your articles carried in these directories.

You’ll need to develop article ideas that will be relevant to your desired target markets and compelling enough for them to click back to you. And then you’re going to have to submit the articles to the websites that carry them. I have found that aggressive article submission delivers thousands of visits per month to my websites.

There are hundreds of active article directories online currently that accept articles on a free basis. You’ll have no way of knowing which ones have high traffic or which ones are best in driving traffic, and it would take years of trial and error and countless hours to find the ideal websites.

There are automatic article submission programs that will let you reach out to large numbers of directories with very little manual work. That’s right, technology is your friend once again. There are a variety of inexpensive tools that make the article creation and submission process a fast, streamlined, efficient process.

I use Automatic Article Submitter to create multiple versions of my articles and post them to over 300 article directories at the click of a button. It even handles the account creation and confirmation process across all the directories. You’ll receive a lot of confirmations and reminder e-mail back, so open up a separate email account to use as your contact email with the directories. Note that some of the directories do not allow the use of free email addresses such as Google, Hotmail or Yahoo.

Automatic Article Submitter certainly isn’t your only choice, but it is the one I know best. It was recommended to me and I have been very satisfied. Automatic Article Submitter eliminates repetitive content using a very neat spinner feature. I often use its scheduler to do all my articles at once and then release them to the public throughout the month. The help/FAQ book that comes with it is all you need to get your first article out the same day.

Again, today’s software packages and resources make it very easy to start article marketing right away. The cost of entry is low, so you can try it out and see if it works for you. If done correctly with some personal assistance and mentoring, you will get your name broadcast across hundreds of websites, and if you spend the time carefully creating good, interesting articles, you will get expert credibility and traffic flowing back to your blog and products.

Building your own blog as well as interacting with other third party blog websites is a great way to build name awareness, expert credentials and to produce consistent traffic and online network marketing leads. You should use your blog as your central or “hub” website where you keep your thoughts, tips, mentoring and strategies for easy access by your email list and new traffic. Your blog also is linked to all of your lead capture pages and vice versa.

The quality of your own blog is one of the crucial things you’ll need to work hard to maintain as part of your online network marketing business. Dedicate time in your calendar following other blogs and commenting on posts as well as updating and releasing new content in your own website. Becoming a presence in the comments sections will help your own follower lists grow as people begin to see your opinions, become aware of your name and link back to your blog. Here’s some free advice and general guidelines you should follow when building and maintaining your blog:

1. Sound like an expert in your posts. It’s easy. And you can check your information by simply checking against the hundreds of other blogs available on almost any subject on the web.

2. Do not copy other’s blog entries. If you’re going to do research from others, spend the time to assimilate the information and rewrite it into your own entry. Otherwise, you will get caught and the effects on your brand name will be catastrophic.

3. Try to avoid controversial statements and definitely avoid false claims. Be positive in your messages. If you can’t say something nice, don’t say it all. If your blogging theme becomes based on negativity, you will get a bad name for yourself, and the kind of traffic you generate will not be the type that converts.

4. Be yourself in your writing. Don’t be afraid to be “authentic. ” Blogging, even if you’re talking about technical subjects, must come from “within. ” Your followers will relate better if they see some of your personality.

5. Don’t agonize over writing. Just let the words flow, edit the content after letting it sit for a day, and get it out there! It will help the perception of authenticity.

The most productive thing you can with your time is to reach out to other blogs. Send the publishers emails, comment on their postings (in a nice way) and try to start a dialogue with them. Trade links back and forth, offer to let them syndicate or “borrow” your content or postings, become a contributing or guest author, etc. Giving them information makes their jobs easier and you may find it generates significant traffic.

From the beginning, organize your blogs postings and content areas into a logical hierarchy. When you post, use your blog site’s tools to apply the appropriate keywords and themes so that your blog is searchable. Otherwise, you will have a mess that will turn off some of your followers.

If you follow the tips above, dedicate time to maintaining your blog, take the time to develop compelling posts, and consistently reach out through other third party blogging sites, then you will see a consistent flow of online network marketing leads generated by blogging. You can set up your own blog with a domain name in really no time at all. It’s easy nowadays with a GoDaddy account, a free WordPress blog account and with some personal assistance and tips.

The success of your online network marketing depends on how large you can grow your subscriber list and the quality of information you offer. Some percentage of your list subscribers will sign up into your primary business or buy products from you – but only after they have come to trust you and view you as a valuable source of information. The majority of the list subscribers will never join your primary business or purchase your products. However, based on the relationship you establish with them over time, you’ll be able to market related goods and services to them.

The wide proliferation of the Internet and everyone’s reliance on email as a communication for business and personal use opens up a whole new world of advertising that goes far beyond traditional methods. Before the late 1990′s, if you wanted to build a network marketing business, you had to get on the phone, call everyone you know, meet in person and hope that some of those leads begin to produce. Or you had to spend a lot of time and money putting out expensive ads, flyers, leaving business cards and so forth. A lot of people gave up before they could build momentum and make money.

Email means your messages can reach a huge amount of people instantaneously. And it all arrives through one medium that they rely upon for the transfer of information back and forth. This creates vast opportunity as well a challenge. People receive A LOT of email. We’re going to give you some advice on how to make sure people open and read your materials.

1. Focus on your subject lines. This is the one thing you should probably invest the most time in and maintain the most flexibility in. This is the first and often last impression your target will see. Try different ones out and watch your traffic and conversions carefully. This is the subject of a several other articles on copy writing.

2. Be careful what time of day you send out email. Don’t get into the habit of sending out email blasts when it is convenient for you. Create your messages and subject lines ahead of time and have them ready to go, so you can send them when your recipients are most likely to see and read them. I’d recommend sending them NOT before 9:00 a.m. and not after 7 p.m. Overnight, they’re just going to get buried behind other email and have less chance of being seen and read.

3. Email list management software. The market leaders are Aweber and GetResponse. These services allow you to create and grow unlimited different lists, send prewritten messages on a follow-up schedule to people by list and also send broadcast messages across lists. Both Aweber and GetResponse will report back to you how many people opened your email and how many clicked on any links embedded in the email. Your list is your lifeblood. You need a solution that provides solid reporting back to you so that you know what is and is not working. Also, ensure that you own the names on the list should you ever need to move to another provider.

4. Consider ready-made email marketing lists. These are pre-existing lists that allow you to send to their members. You are sharing this list with a lot of other people. But, this is a great way to get started while you build your own private list. There are a lot of software programs to choose from. And a lot that make false promises. Here are two that I have used that you may want to consider – ListJoe and ViralURL. Both have similar functions and both, most importantly, get you started right away with IMMEDIATE access to large, pre-existing subscriber lists. Both are free to try out but your best bet is their lowest level of paid account. The free versions require you to read others’ emails sent through the networks to get credits for usage, and it will take a lot of time for you to build up enough credits for you to make an impact. For about $15 a month you can email thousands of people every few days.

Set up a SEPARATE, free email account to use with these services. You’re going to get A LOT of email and you won’t want it clogging up your normal activities. Take the 10 minutes to set up a Gmail, Hotmail or Yahoo account or you will hate yourself later. Both List Joe and Viral URL give you a great amount of of usage to operate within their respective networks. Both have spent significant money in developing built-in, powerful email marketing software that you simply can’t get as an individual home based business. In our experience, we recommend getting both programs, as they give you access to a larger universe of subscribers that are already opted in and used to receiving these types of offers.

Many are looking for Facebook network marketing ideas to find prospects for their opportunity. There are socially acceptable ways and there are the not so socially acceptable ways to go about it. Many people are making the mistake of a longer more time consuming strategy. They are not aggressive. Others are too aggressive. I will share with you a strategy that works much better.

First, do not make the mistake of directly advertising on a social marketing sight like Facebook or MySpace when people come there to socialize. People go to these sites for dating, relationships and networking, not reading about your opportunity!

Marketing that way reminds me of a time when my wife and I were dating. She did the funniest thing when we were wrestling around in the kitchen, and it only worked against her. She tried to karate kick me and I grabbed her leg. She then proceeded to lift the other leg off of the floor to kick me! Guess what? She hardly realized that she had lifted both legs off the floor before she came crashing down!

When you approach people on a social networking site with your links and product in hand you are doing just the same. It will come crashing down my friend!

Winning network marketing leads on Facebook without crashing:

1. Choose friends that are net-workers. You decide those you want to work with so make choices and create folders that will allow you to better manage your relationships. By choosing these types of friends you are ensuring that you have better averages because these friends are targeted.
2. Lead with benefits. Do not approach people asking them to join your company or try your product. Instead try giving something to them. I often give them a resource that is selfless such as a pdf file that could help with time management or something that I think they’d like based upon what I read in their profile.
3. Put your links on your profile. Also make sure you post your links on walls and in groups in a socially acceptable way. This is a skill that is more times done incorrectly than correctly, but it is absolutely necessary if you are going to take the short cut and have an ample amount of opt-in leads.

You can create genuine relationships with the most targeted prospects on the front end and make opting in a quicker process. Many are waiting for their friends to discover that they are in a particular business instead. This is not necessary.

Several people have Facebook network marketing ideas for lead generation but have just approached it from the wrong perspective and are getting low results. Simply become aggressive at adding value to people instead of aggressive at promoting your links. You will find that it pays in the short run as well as the long!

I won’t go into a huge explanation of what twitter is, but I will explain how to use twitter to get free MLM leads and build your network marketing business. Twitter is a social networking site that allows you to tell people what you’re up to in a couple of sentences. Like a blog post but not as long. You’re limited to 140 characters per post.

Just like any other social networking site, twitter is a great place to build relationships, not to pitch your opportunity. This is the number one mistake that a lot of network marketers are making right now, not just on twitter but other social networks as well.

The day twitter becomes a total pitch-fest for you is the day you’ll be branded as a spammer. Step number one is be careful not to follow too many people when you first start. You want people to follow you just like you want people to join your MLM, so don’t appear needy by following everybody and their grandmother on twitter.

P.S. and by the way, if your grandmother is using twitter then she is more of techie than I am, so there’s no need to feel intimidated by new technologies. Embrace it because it will take you far when it comes to the practice of building yourself as a brand. Branding yourself is part of the main point of using twitter.

A good rule of thumb is to have more people following you than you are following, so when you first get started it’s a good idea to send an e-mail to everyone you know encouraging them to follow you on twitter. If you follow too many people before anyone follows you, it can earn you a spot on the twitter blacklist, and that’s not the list you want to be on.

Don’t just say “hey you guys, follow me on twitter!” Give people a good reason to follow you for the valuable content you’ll be providing there. The whole point of twitter is to help you brand yourself as a leader that people will be attracted to.

Just like with blogs, twitter is the place to report great things you find out about that actually help people in your market. For example, when I learned how to improve my article marketing skills I told my blog readers about it. Content is king, so there’s no need to use twitter to pitch people. You’ll get to allow your readers to sell themselves on what you’re doing by attracting them to your website later.

Which website should you use for your twitter profile? I use my blog as my twitter profile website link because the whole point of twitter is to help you brand yourself as an expert in your industry, NOT to pitch people on your business opportunity.

The last and final twitter tip is to get more people to follow you, you can put your twitter link in your e-mail signature, in your forum signature, on your blog, on your myspace, on your facebook, anywhere that you do social networking. Here’s another quick tip. Twitter is great for building relationships, so remember to use it for good by sending positive replies to people you are following. The old adage of “help and be helped” goes on long way on twitter.

When you simply focus on the entire of point of using twitter, which is to brand yourself through providing valuable content, you’ll be “king of the twitter hill” in no time.
